End of Season Renovation:

One of the most important activities for improving the quality and performance of your cricket square is the end of season renovation work.  We offer a wide range of services / packages and can be flexible depending on the individual clubs requirement and budget.  As we own all our own equipment it means we can offer complete turnkey solutions through to just carrying out the scarifying if the club want to do the rest of the work themselves during the renovation.

Winter Work:

Out of season work is a critical part of the annual programme for the square and outfield.  We recommend and undertake aeration activity alongside fertiliser applications to ensure the roots get the right nutrients and the soil takes in plenty of air to encourage healthy grass growth in the spring.  Its also important to see the new grass cut to about 25mm to avoid disease creeping in during the damp / wet periods.

We offer this as a work package that can be agreed and included as follow up work to the renovation or standalone activity depending on the needs of each club.

Pre-season square prep and wicket work:

Starting the pre-season rolling is the first stage of moving the renovated square towards a playing status.  The purpose is to re-compact the soils slowly, promoting deeper compaction rather than quick fire surface compaction that will inevitably break up during the season.  A methodical light rolling sequence across the square at first, then diagonal to the playing direction and finally in line with play over a period of 6-8 weeks is a tried and tested method, gradually decreasing speed and increasing the weight of the rolling if possible.
Carrying out pre-season rolling alongside a good quality spring fertiliser will set the foundations of an improved wicket, with less rolling required during weekly match prep.

If help is required with the above work or simply ensuring the square and wickets are set out and marked properly we are more than happy to provide support.

See some of the case studies for more examples of our work both pre-season and during weekly match day wicket preparations.

The Outfield:

Another important part of match day presentation, performance and ground standards.  We can use our own machinery or if the club has their own we are happy to provide services only.  During the season its good to cut the outfield at least once per week (depending on conditions) to keep the grass healthy and well presented for match days.  Again, another important task is aeration at the right time in the calendar.

With our Trimax Striker 190 we provide outfield cutting services to a number of clubs with not only a very competitive solution but a quality one as well.
